Burning Rubber v1.2.3 is a top-on-perspective-car-game for the Macintosh similar to many C64 classics such as the original Burning Rubber game or the game Spy Hunter. For further information on how to play the game and the game 'rules' see the programs built-in help system (choose 'HELP…' under the 'Options' menu or press H).
Shareware:
Note that Burning Rubber is not free!! The game is distributed as Shareware meaning that if you decide to keep the game after some time you ought to pay for it! To do this please use the enclosed 'Register' program or just send whatever you think is appropriate to my address (see below).
To use the 'Register' program, just open it, and fill out the 'Register To:' and Adress fields. Type in the amount of copys of Burning Rubber you want to register in the field labeled 'Single User @US$10' (or select either Site or World-Wide License). If you think that Burning Rubber is really cool, you can also type the amount of money you want me to get as a bonus into the 'Bonus US$' field. Finally select a Payment Method from the Popup-Menu in the lower-left of the Window, and press either 'Print…' to mail or fax the form to Kagi, or press 'Copy…' or 'Save…' to submit the form via email.
Special Thanx to all those people who have already paid for Burning Rubber!!

Frequently asked questions:
Q: The game runs much to fast. Why didn't you build in a speed govenour?
A: I did. The game is supposed to run that fast - otherwise it would be really easy.
Q: Why does Burning Rubber switch to 16 grays on my 68030 Mac?
A: Because 68030 Macs are to slow to manage 8-Bit-color-full-screen-scrolling in reasonable speed.
Q: How many levels are there?
A: 10.
Q: What is your highest score?
A: About 50,000. Then I quit, because I got bored… Mail me your scores! I'd like to know if anybody out there can compete with me…
Q: How do I get into Mac Game Programming? (actually the most frequently asked question)
A: 1. Get a good compiler (Symantec C++ or CodeWarrier-I wouldn't use MPW as a beginner)
2. Get a book on your programming language (for games I suggest C, but Pascal is OK, too)
3. Get a book on the Macintosh Toolbox (I don't know a good one in English)
4. Get the book "Tricks of the Mac Game Programming Gurus" published by Hayden books.
5. Read all those books.
6. Write many, many good games.
DISCLAIMER:
NEITHER I NOR KAGI CAN BE MADE RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY DAMAGE THAT THE BURNING RUBBER PROGRAM MIGHT CAUSE. THIS MEANS THAT IF YOUR COMPUTER SUDDENLY EXPLODES WHILE PLAYING BURNING RUBBER (I THINK I FIXED THAT BUG :-) ) IT'S YOUR PROBLEM. THE SAME GOES FOR PSYCHOLOGICAL PROBLEMS CAUSED BY BURNING RUBBER SUCH AS THE STRONG DESIRE TO SMASH CARS OF THE HIGHWAY :-))))
